I think…

that it’s kind of sad when you’ve been working on something you love all semester only to find out that the people you wanted to share it with aren’t going to be there. I understand most of it- friends and family still have to go to work and can’t always make it… but not you.

I feel like it’s always been this way with you; you’ve never encouraged me in my passion and have always seen my love for this as unimportant when compared to other things. But missing out on it simply to keep your word to go on a two day river-run with the guys is a little fucked up. Especially when you missed my surgery last week to go to the same damn place…

Let’s see: go to the river for two days or go to your daughter’s recital? I know which one I would pick as a parent… Maybe it’s because I’m older now, you think it’s not important to be there anymore? I don’t know… but it’s important to me, and I really don’t ask for much.

But you know what? It’s okay. I’ve got my mom and my love to be there to support me, and they’re going to see a show that will touch their hearts.
